Plastic planet is a reality haunting all of us today .we have been immensely creating plastic waste and throwing it freely like anything on streets,parks,oceans  and other water bodies which results in diverse forms of degradation of earth leading to threats to marine organisms in general and all of us in common .

In 2015, scientists said that “of the nearly 7 billion tons of plastic waste generated, only 9% was recycled, 12% incinerated, and 79% accumulated in landfills or the environment”.This raises serious concern about the future of planet to live peacefully as plastic waste calls for various problems which is engulfing is today in form of health hazards,land degradation,water pollution etc and will continue engulfing us if not tackled with properly.

In India, which accounts for almost 18% of the world population in 2.4% of the global land area, the accumulation of plastic waste is huge.This raises a concern if with population growth,grows the mind too ? Answer seems to be no,no of use today is even bothered about the challenges we will be encountered with if not stopped today.

Study revealed that 20 rivers (mostly from Asia) carry two-thirds of plastic waste to the ocean; the Ganga’s contribution to this is one of the highest, we believe in worshiping the rivers and expect happiness and well being in our life but what are we giving to our goddess  rivers, dangerous water,toxic elements,death of their residents I.e marine organisms etc by contributing in lowering down the water quality level to hazardous level ? Researchers exploring the Arctic have found very high levels of microplastics trapped in the ice,which is not something done in one year but a result of years of contribution by human beings, who relentlessly for selfish gains have led to this grim situation today and the picture is disheartening.

The economic impact of plastic pollution on marine ecosystems through fisheries and tourism losses and beach cleaning-up costs is estimated to be around $13 billion per year.

Drinking water samples analysed from 14 countries, including India, revealed that 83% have micro-plastics concentrations. According to a United Nations Environment Programme report, the overall annual natural capital cost of plastic use in the consumer goods sector is $75 billion.

Talking about the solutions we must lock up in our mind 4P protect planet from plastic pollution. 

Next step  is spreading awareness among masses which should start with young age People as they are change bearers with lots of fresh energy and enthusiasm.

Another step is to promote the startup’s ,companies and other ventures who have initiated selling items made of bamboo etc so as to make available various alternatives to masses at affordable price,so that accepting change becomes easy.

Lastly government must take steps to enforce plastic management rules 2016 in true sense along with waste management rules.

Each one accountable should be the slogan of each human being to stop the future consequences of the growing dangers out of plastic pollution and we must in this way adhere to protect the planet become a plastic planet by being true eco warriors .

Chargesheet on JNU February’s issue

“ India that is bharat shall be a union of state “says Article 1 of Indian constitution  means it is our duty to adhere to constitutional idea of ‘union of states’and if one raises the slogans “Bharat tere tukde honge inshaallah inshaallah “ is clearly a defamation of what our constitution believes in and is against article 1. 

Article 19(2) talking about certain restriction on  freedom of speech and expression says Nothing in sub-clause(a) of clause(1) shall affect the operation of any existing law, or prevent the State from making any law, in so far as such law imposes reasonable restrictions on the exercise of the right conferred by the said sub-clause in the interests of the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the State, friendly relations with foreign States, public order, decency or morality, or in relation to contempt of court, defamation or incitement to an offence.

In context of above mentioned articles in constitution chanting anti Indian slogans that is to ask for break down India into parts,to cherish people claimed as terrorist by court is simply disobedience to constitution and supreme body I.e judiciary .

If to allow this is being termed as flag bearer of free and liberal country,it’s better to not let  those people say so ,because India is a land of tolerance and  diversity who cannot on the name of freedom of speech and expression see a decay of very essence  of our constitution.

Whereas talking about sedition charges under 124A ,it is not to be seen as a slap on dissent as article 19(2) says freedom of speech and expression quotes for reasonable restriction when it comes as a challenge to sovereignty and integrity of India.

Chargesheet in the  JNU case is a welcoming step,keeping aside the timing of chargesheet because their are certain things which have to be seen from non political eyes and an issue like this shows growing strength of such element in society who hold sentiments of bifurcation  rather than amalgamation . 

To protect the constitution we really need to stand united ,we cannot simply ignore people doing away with the constitutional clauses on the name of freedom and liberty.

जिस प्रकार दलित एवं अन्य मूलभूत सुविधाओं से वंचित जाती एवं वर्ग को आरक्षण इस बात पर सही माना जा सकता है कि इतिहास में हुए अत्याचारों को सही करने की ज़िम्मेदारी हम सभी वर्गों और मनुष्यों की बनती है ( history has to pay back ) ,ठीक इसी प्रकार से राम मंदिर का मुद्दा है जिसे ना दो धर्मों के बीच के समस्याओं के रूप मे देखा  जाना चाहिए ,इस बात को उस धर्म विशेष  के लोगों के साथ हुए अत्याचार  से जोड़ कर समझना  चाहिए जिनके आस्था से जुड़े मंदिर  की उपस्थिति  की पुष्टि दो बार 1997,2003 में आर्कीयलॉजिकल सर्वे  ऑफ़ इंडिया द्वारा खोज  में की जा चुकी है और ये माना जा चुका है की मुग़लों से कही हज़ार साल पहले से वहाँ राम मंदिर था जिसके अवशेष भी पाए गए है एवं तुलसीदोहा सतक में तुलसीदास ने आँखों देखी बात लिखी है की किस प्रकार मीर बाक़ी ने मंदिर की तोड़ फोड़ करायी ।किसी  के  भी  साथ  हुए अत्याचारों पर आवाज़ उठाने  के लिए हम सभी सहमत होते है, फिर किसी की  भी आस्था के साथ हो रहे खिलवाड़  को हम कम्यूनल पॉलिटिक्स  का नाम देकर नकारात्मक माहोल क्यू  बना देते है ?क्या इस मुद्दे पर भी ( history has to pay back ) की माँग हम सभी को मिलकर करने की ज़रूरत नहीं है ? 

 उनकी बात अलग ही है  जो ASI की बातों  को भी ग़लत मानते है,उनकी मंशा क्या है वह स्वयं स्पष्ट है ।

Multi pronged welfare approach yields results 

India is a land of huge population,with such masses comes the complex issues of livelihood and there always lies an onus on government to do as much as possible to  overcome the problems which pertains specially to areas of good health and employment opportunities to the governed. 

Soubhagya schemes ,ujjawala scheme and manufacturing sector growth are pointing towards how an effective approach is being used to govern the people to take them out of the basic problem one witness in life such as:-

1.Improper electricity supply 

With its strong commitment government have launched saubhagya scheme for 100% electrification of all households and happy to announce 8 states are fully electrified today which not even improves the standard of living of people but also brings a new light of hope to the distressed masses specially in rural areas which might help in bringing good number of youth in pursuing their academics ,will help farmers by giving access to modern  machines running on electricity,women will become more liberated as they wouldn’t be time bound to complete all household chores in a fear of seeing no light after a particular time period.

2.low manufacturing rate

Manufacturing rate is directly linked to the growth of masses which leads to employment and earning to sustain lives.Today its a matter of pride that The Nikkie India manufacturing purchasing managers index(PMI) is strengthened from 52.2 in September to 53.1 in September. With good growth in manufacturing sector comes the wave of happiness in lives of millions of people employed in this prominent sector and also good manufacturing directly favours citizens with availability of more number of job opportunities thus leading to bring down the vicious circle of poverty.

3.Ujjwala scheme 

It is a matter of pride for Indians that we are being governed by kind and humble government which not only believes in proposing policies but rectifying them with the change in needs of people such as under ujjawala scheme to provide LPG connection to poor women belonging to BPL category,this shows how deeply one understands the drawback of cooking without LPG which have harmed the health of women since ages in disastrous numbers.

With time,need for change arises,in a recent move Dharmendra Pradhan,minister of petroleum and gas have proposed that women will not only be given opportunity to get refilled their 

Cylinders which cost them around 900₹ which minister after a survey got to know that discourages families to have access to the refilling,so to bring down the burden of spending huge money,20%of people who couldn’t get access to refilling,are allowed to even use small cylinders so that they don’t find it hard to refill the gas.

This might seen as slight change to us,but it holds huge capacity to change the lives of masses.

Hence we see change doesn’t come with policies,it comes with intention to  change the lives of governed, and this above all requires a kind heart which can feel even slight pain of governed as pain to oneself.

I am a youth ! I am a citizen of Delhi studying in Delhi university who have witnessed the horrendous Nirbhaya rape case and have seen my city being named all over the world as rape capital of India registering huge number of cases of rape,harassment,oppression,humiliation against women.

Recent data from UN shows that there still prevails huge cases of dowry in India not only in rural areas but also in pseudo liberated urban areas.

We as responsible citizens find it our duty to find out all sort of possible Initiatives and actions in order to bring down such an image of city as one battering women at all levels.

In the same row,We can not forget the gathering of people not only at India gate but in even small parks,streets of Delhi to express their anguish against the increased crime against women and specially in regard to the Nirbhaya rape case due to sheer negligence on the part of government,but is that enough for a society to change ? Isn’t mind the worst monster which pushes one to commit such brutal crimes ? Obviously yes ! 

So I would specially like to mention here that we all know what are the responsibilities of government and how each time we vote for a party and sits empty handed with unfulfilled election promises of women safety and what not !

But the point specifically needed to be raised is how we as youth are continuously doing to change the scenario because as responsible citizens we are endowed with some fundamental duty and it becomes our duty to act when situation demands and here the situation is as I mentioned, a very important one and that is “To protect 586.47 million females of our country”

What we as a youth studying in prominent universities are doing? Isn’t there a need to not only rise when we hear a case of crime against women,isn’t its our responsibility to strengthen each girl we know to become empowered and independent on her own part? Obviously yes ! 

What I said lacks attention specially if I take into consideration the interest of youth studying in universities,for example Delhi university. There was a mega initiative taken by the student organisation  Akhil Bhartiya vidhyarti parishad regarding women’s safety to teach each girl of not only Delhi university but of whole nation to become self independent and taught them the survival tactics to deal with any unforeseen situation,to prepare the mind of girls to react instantly to any emergency and the name of the event was MISSION SAHASI i.e to make them fearless,empowered and confident to deal with all unfortunate circumstances being faced by them in near future.

This saw participation of more than 5 lakh girls all over the country which is quite commendable but why don’t you think learning this can be of huge benefit to any girl to ensure her safety and this could have witnessed even more participation if girls would have themselves shown keen interest to take out their time for their ownself. There is a need to spend time on yourself.

Onus lies not only on girls ,but boys and friends who plays a role as motivator to them to go to such events which can help girls to feel liberated mentally.

Not only this is an example of youth least interested in such events which are organised to help them,there have been several examples in recent times which show that until and unless any thing harms you,you are not interested in coming forward.Then how can we expect this youth to walk beyond chanting slogans to demand justice to actually act to become a change maker.

This was in general about youth of Delhi university or I say of Delhi who dwells deep into the culture of pub,clubs or even restricted to four walls of their house for academics,I must object this,human are nothing without moral values and knowledge is of no use if it is not helping fellow human.

Generally speaking,it become important for youth to become pro active to act against the injustice and become an instrument of change in society which requires participation,action and mobilisation at large level.

There is need for change in atmosphere of Delhi university where students specially girls colleges instils in the mind of girls the fear to participate in any activity outside the college as it is not secure, I object !is this how we as moulders of personality will make our girls empowered ? I think this is the worst act of injustice to girls.

Organisations and students studying are interdependent and if we act with open minds we can see that organisations play an instrumental role in bringing a big change in society where students become equally capable to act instantly whenever they see any injustice being done ,be it at university level or at level of country as a whole.

Girls safety starts with change in mindset from being fearful about things to becoming confident.Confidence and mental strength are two powerful instruments which holds potential to become harbinger of change.

Hence to conclude,I would mention two things-

1. Let us be pro active and understand it as our responsibility to become active participants in events for ensuring safety of girls to take hold over rising cases of crime which has its direct connection with characteristics attributed to a girl that she is shy,weak and voiceless.Its Time to fight back and this comes when we step out of our comfort zones.
2. Student Organisations as I mentioned ABVP’s mission sahasi which work for ensuring safety and put in lot of effort for bringing change in atmosphere of fear,we must by using our rational mind work with them for all issues pertaining to bringing a change in society at large because as we have always heard a drop of water makes ocean .

We are youth, we can study and we can fight. We are human we have immense potential and we can work for ourselves and society at same time.Lets not be fearful,let’s feel liberated in true sense .

After congress making its term in three states recently, a quick decision have taken centre stage in terms of waiving the loans of upto 2lakh of Madhya Pradesh farmers by newly elected CM kamalnath.

This can be viewed with two angles :-

1 Pro poor

Poverty is directory related to income earned by individual.however agriculture is the most vulnerable job these days as it has to face the plight of not only natural disasters but man made as well in terms of ignoring the texture of land and soil,not understanding the suitability of soil for sowing particular type of crops,over exploitation of land and so on.

Farm loan waiver is seen as a tool to help farmers with the loss they suffer in terms of failure of crops due to both natural as well as man made disaster.

Question arises ,natural disasters can’t be avoided in short term,they will require action not only on part of government but also on part of all other stakeholders of environment and human beings.so,this being a reason for help can be justified for short term,but man made disaster getting privilege from the government in terms of farm loan waiver is like rewarding one for being greedy and becoming commercial exploiters.

But,let’s settle with the fact that loan waiver to farmer who feeds all of us is pro poor stance as farmers today are deprived of few basic needs which shows their plight ,be it in southern parts of India or northern parts of India.

Helping more than half of people who are employed and linked to agriculture for their livelihood is justified as being pro poor move.

2 Selfish motive:

This act of farm loan waiver is not only a pro poor move,but in contemporary times a huge hue cry is for not improving the conditions of farmers in long term but over the fact about how farm loan waiver is the only option left for government.it raises few of the questions-

-Are we using this as a tool to gain votes 

-Are these measures a conspiracy to keep farmers backward 

-will these measures really help farmers in dealing with the most encountered problems such as low prices for production,land loss,indebtedness,low standard of living,job oppurtunities to future generation,curbing inter generational poverty and so on.

-will the situation leading to debtedness is eradicated via loan waivers

Answer to above remains no ,as short term move reaps only short term happiness which do not lead to overall improvement of farmers condition.

-Move Alluring farmers:

Despite loan waivers not being very helpful for farmers in long term,they are enjoying the ongoing process of alluring commons which is today confined not only to agriculture sector but in common as well,see the Delhi’s plight,the one whose taxes are being used to provide freebies are enjoying the freebies not knowing the burden which will mount upon them in terms of budgetary deficit which eventually will lead to high cost of living which has consequences not only for this generation but for coming generations as well .

-Loan waiver for Lok sabha elections?

One after other,farm loan waiver is seen as highest act of kindness for governed,promises are made and presented as it is the end solution to all the problems.

There are few who willingly enjoy the loan waivers but there are other states who under pressure of gains to opposition opt for the same measures in the backdrop for Lok Sabha elections.MP,Rajasthan have recently announced loan waiver within 2 days of government formation ,the very next day Odisha decides the same.Isnt is a legacy being followed by one imitating other in fear of one not leaving any stone unturned so as to protect oneself from anguish of farmers.

-Farmers need to understand :

My dear,food givers to humanity ,let us not give any chances to self interest seekers to play with our plights .we must understand the future consequences which leads to whole cycle of unending complexities in our lives in terms of inflation,land loss,budgetary deficit,mounted loan on government,misuse of tax payers money etc.

Instead,we all must pitch for long term benefits in terms of good price for crop,crop insurances,good price for crop,implementation of Msp , providing good amount of fertilisers and other necessities,ensuring active role of rural banks,technological advancement etc .these measures can in long term leads to prosperous status of farmers and avoid the days of distress on coming generations leading to inter generational poverty.

We have to rise,but let us resist to become praiser of acts which are done for political motives.farmers problem is not to be used for fulfilling purpose of few.let us unite to end politics of woes.
